About us

SVIJET JEZIKA (WORLD OF LANGUAGES) is the first school to receive accreditation from the Ministry of Education, and it thus became part of the general education system of Croatia.
This accreditation is the highest standard and recognition which an educational institution can acquire, and it implies, apart from academic excellence, excellent teaching programmes,
and dedication to maintaining the high teaching standards.
WORLD OF LANGUAGES is a school accredited for 7 languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Croatian.

The programmes, and the 6 levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), are aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), the fundamental document of the Council of Europe which precisely defines the standards of learning, teaching and assessment of knowledge of foreign languages.
A WORLD OF LANGUAGES certificate is a public document with the right to be registered in an electronic employment record.
Vodnikova is also an associate of the University of Zagreb: in this school foreign language students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences gain practical knowledge in foreign language teaching methodology.
Professional training is conducted under the supervision of mentors/tutors - Vodnikova teachers appointed by the Faculty, who assess students for the practical part of the foreign language teaching methodology.
For decades Vodnikova has been conducting classes for the employees of businesses and institutions in Zagreb and beyond.
The classes take place at the clients' premises (in groups or individual/one-to-one), and can move at the client's desired speed.
Our dedicated and professional teachers have made Vodnikova a very successfull school for foreign languages.

Centre for Foreign Languages, popularly known as Vodnikova, has founded the accredited school named WORLD OF LANGUAGES.

Vodnikova was founded in 1952. It was the first school in the world where foreign languages were taught by the then new method known as the audio-visual method, which radically improved the way foreign languages were taught until that time.
All later methods were and still are different variations of that basic method.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Voidnikova organized seminars for foreign language teachers from almost all European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czechoslovakia of that time,
Denmark, France, Italy, Hungary, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania, the USSR, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and the UK), who then introduced this new method in their own countries.
In 1961, at a competition run by the UN, Vodnikova was chosen to introduce the new (audio-visual) method to Egyptian universities, where Vodnikova teachersspent 6 months tutoring their Egyptian colleagues in this new teaching method and the use of new teaching aids.
In the 1960s and 1970s Vodnikova introduced this new taching method in more than 90 towns and cities in Croatia, and in more than one hundred schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Vojvodina and Kosovo.
Over its long history, Vodnikova teachers have written and Vodnikova has published more than 80 textbooks for teaching foreign languages - English, French, German, Spanish
and Italian, and Croatian for foreigners. All these textbooks have been given excellent reviews by the Ministry of Education.
In order for Vodnikova to meet all the requirements and acquire accreditation for its programmes, and as a result to issue recognized certificates, in 2007 it founded
the school named WORLD OF LANGUAGES.

Testing (entrance exams)

For candidates living in Croatia:

Tests are taken by candidates with some prior knowledge of a language, to enable them to
enrol in the appropriate learning module (course).
The test consists of written and oral parts, and may be taken in three ways:
1. The written test on-line, the oral by telephone, registration on-line:
Open/click onhttps://czsj.vodnikova.hr/testiranje/!data/ and register. An activation link will be
sent to your e-mail address for activation of your profile, after which you can log in to the
application.
Choose TAKE A TEST and the language.
The test has several parts (modules). Each part has 15 questions, and you are allowed 7
minutes (so we ask you to complete the test quietly).
If you have at least 10 correct answers you can move on from the first part of the test to the
second, and so on.
If you have less than 10 correct answers in one part of the test, that is the end of the test for
you, and it is saved as such in our test database. The system will offer you the times and
means to take the oral test (by telephone or in person at Vodnikova).
Following the oral test, the teacher will decide which module you can enrol in.
Select ENROLMENT IN MY MODULE and the language, and one of the times for classes
offered.
When we receive your choice of time, we will send you the documents for enrolment and an
invoice for 300.00 HRK.
As soon as we receive your payment, we will send you notification that you have successfully
enrolled for the time you chose.
Before the beginning of classes, we will notify you by phone or e-mail about the date of the
first lesson.
2. Written test on-line, oral at Vodnikova, enrolment at Vodnikova:
After registering, as for no. 1 above, you take the test. At the end of the test, you indicate your
choice to take the oral at Vodnikova. We will then expect you at the agreed time. After the
oral you can enrol in room 102, first floor.
