Court Interpreter Exam

The court interpreter exam checks the highest level of language proficiency and includes translation in both directions.

Application and payment deadline: 10 days before the exam date.

Exam Level

C2

The exam verifies the highest level of language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

Entry Requirement

At Least a University Degree

In accordance with the Rules on Permanent Court Interpreters, candidates for the language part of the exam must hold at least a university degree.

255,00 € (PDV uključen)

VAT is included in the price. An application without payment is incomplete and considered invalid.

Court Interpreters

What You Need to Know Before Applying

This is an exam in foreign language proficiency at the highest level. It includes a written and an oral part, tests reading, listening, writing and speaking, and includes translation from the foreign language into Croatian and from Croatian into the foreign language.

Exam Structure

  • reading comprehension
  • language use: grammar and vocabulary
  • essay writing and translation
  • listening, spoken production and spoken interaction

Important Notes

  • You may use your own dictionaries for the translation, but not in digital form.
  • To pass, you must achieve at least 60% of the points in each part of the exam.
  • You can obtain the results by phone within three days, and the certificate is issued within eight days.
  • Candidates should contact the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration for detailed appointment instructions.

Application and payment deadline:
10 days before the exam date.

Cancellation:
No later than 24 hours before the scheduled date. In case of later cancellation or absence, 20% of the exam fee is retained.

The Centre cannot guarantee that the exam will be held in every language in every session due to the possible absence of external collaborators, but we accept applications for all languages listed below.

    Choose the date and language and submit your application for the language part of the court interpreter exam. If you pay the fee via internet or mobile banking, please send proof of payment to vodnikova@vodnikova.hr.
